OUR SOLUTION

RESIDENTIAL ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS (RESS)

For 95% of our customers a RESS offering 1kW to 4kW of stored energy is the right fit for their needs.  You can take your pick from well-known, leading brands including Tesla, Samsung, Sonnen, LG and Solax. The Back Up Power Company is not tied to one manufacturer so we can find you the best deal.  The systems we offer are scalable. You can start with 1kW of stored energy and add more at a later date if required.  This way you are in total control of your budget and can avoid paying for surplus capacity. If you have your own business a RESS is also suitable the majority of SME’s.

SAVE MONEY ON YOUR ELECTRICITY BILL

When not needed for an emergency use your back-up power daily to reduce your electricity bill. You can programme the systems’ timer to switch automatically to your stored energy avoiding peak energy charges.  Your stored energy can either be from a solar source or from the mains supply.  If you opt for mains stored energy your batteries will be charged in off peak periods.  If you prefer solar, we can supply a compact standalone solution.  With an average three-bedroom house costing in the region of £8,600 convert to solar, The Back UP power company can provide an Essentials RESS stating starting at £699 + VAT.  Government assistance is also available (subject to conditions.)

LITHIUM Vs. AGM BATTERIES

Lithium batteries have a higher energy density, meaning they can store more energy in a lighter package compared to AGM batteries. This makes lithium batteries ideal for applications where weight and space are crucial factors, such as in portable electronics or electric vehicles. AGM batteries have a lower energy density and are generally heavier for the same energy storage capacity, making them more suitable for stationary applications like backup power systems. Lithium batteries have specific safety considerations, as they can be prone to thermal runaway and require sophisticated battery management systems to prevent overcharging and over-discharging. AGM batteries are generally considered safer and more stable, with a lower risk of thermal runaway. AGM batteries are comparatively less expensive making them more cost-effective.  The Back-Up Power company offers systems built on Lithium or AGM battery storage.
